ADAPTm (CLimate Change Management through Mitigation and Adaptation) is an international Erasmus+ 3 years project for Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education aimed at designing a new Master Degree study program in Climate Change management and Adaptation in Egypt.

The project is coordinated by LaPTA and includes partners in Lithuania, Slovenia, Greece and Egypt. It will run until 2020.

Daniele La Rosa is invited at the Institute of Geography of the Bochum University (Germany) for a research period in early November. During this period, Daniele will give the BOCHUM INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF URBAN SPACES (BISTUS II), this year focusing on  "Changing landscapes under contemporary processes of periurbanization" from the 4th to the 8th of November.

Daniele La Rosa is invited Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Argentinian Congress of Landscape Ecology, in Santiago del Estero (Argentina), organized by the Universidad Nacional de Santiago del Estero next 15-19 of May, 2017. Daniele will speak about "Sustainable planning approaches for peri-urban landscapes” at the begin of the session about Peri-Urban and Metropolitan Landscapes.

Daniele La Rosa, Riccardo Privitera and Viviana Pappalardo attended last April 04-07 the Green Infrastructure Conference in Orviteto, with the following presentations: A planning framework to evaluate demands and preferences from different social groups for accessibility to urban greenspaces (session: GI for future Urban Planning);  "A review of policies and tools for implementing sustainable urban drainage systems in urban planning" (session: Science-policy implications of GI); "Suitability of urban morphology types for Urban Green Infrastructure" (session: GI for climate regulation and climate change resilience)

Daniele La Rosa visits Nagoya University (Japan), invited by the Graduate School of Environmental Studies from the 13th to the 17th of February. Daniele attends two workshops on "Ecosystem services, Landscape Management Labor Accounts, and Accessibility" and " Urban Regeneration and Landscape Planning/Design Methodology - Green Infrastructure" and presents the current research of LAPTA to academic staff and students of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Architecture.

Paolo La Greca  presented the urban planners' perspective for the management of seismic risk and planning of resilience city at the conference "Catania e il Terremoto: prevenire o ricostruire", held at the University of Catania, with a talk "Dalla Conoscenza all'Azione". 

Daniele La Rosa co-organized and attended the RegioResources21 conference in  Lugo (Spain), organized by the European Land-Use Institute, with a presentation on " Factors and indicators to evaluate demands and preferences from different social groups for accessibility to greenspaces".  This year edition focused on Cultural Ecosystem Services and relative planning and conservation issues. 

Viviana Pappalardo attended the Ecosystem Services Partnership European Conference in Antwerp (19-23 September 2016) , presenting a contribute "Evaluating the potential of green infrastructure measures to increase resilience to floods: case studies from southern Italy urban catchments" in the session "Nature-based solutions for urban challenges".

Daniele La Rosa and Viviana Pappalardo attended the Ecosummit 2016 in Montepellier (France), presenting some of the current researches of LAPTA at the sessions “Assessing Ecosystem-based Actions effectiveness. A focus on beneficiaries”, "Cities as hybrid ecosystems: Ecological linkages between urban grey and urban green systems" and the side event "Generating practical outputs from ES studies: An interdisciplinary exchange".

The XIX national conference of the Italian Society of Urbanists was held in Catania (16-19 June), thanks to the super effective planning and organization of LAPTA! More than 300 people attended and enjoyed the conference.
